18/06/2026
Come backOn June 15–16, 2026, in Brno (Czech Republic), Masaryk University (MUNI) hosted a Thematic Summit on health and food security, the environment, as well as data, computing, and digital research infrastructures, as part of the RIFF project (Research Infrastructures for the Future of Ukraine: Roadmap for Sustained Growth and Recovery), implemented under the auspices of the EU Horizon program.
The goal of the RIFF project is to restore, develop, and integrate Ukrainian research infrastructures into the European Research Area (ERA). The event brought together scientists, educators, and experts from Ukraine and European Union countries to exchange experiences, establish partnerships, and identify effective mechanisms for integrating Ukrainian science into the European research community.
The Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Testing was represented at the summit by Nadiya Lynchak, who delivered a presentation titled “Building Interaction Between Plant Variety Testing Systems and European Research Infrastructures in the Health & Food Domain.”
In her presentation, she highlighted the potential of the variety testing system as a source of scientific data, expert knowledge, and infrastructure resources for developing cooperation with European research infrastructures. Particular attention was paid to the prospects for integrating Ukrainian institutions into international scientific networks and expanding cooperation in the field of agricultural research. The participation of a representative from the Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination (UIPVE) in the RIFF international summit helps strengthen international scientific ties, promote Ukrainian expertise in the field of variety testing, and opens up new opportunities for integrating Ukrainian science into the European Research Area.
